You can not create own stickers directly from whatsapp ..but you will need an external application to create your own whatsapp stickers pack and then add them to whatsapp and send them to whom you want from the contacts during the chat
One of these applications is an app called sticker maker for whatsapp that allows you to convert any image into a sticker ..where you can create stickers for pictures in your phone gallery or on google drive or from images saved in the google photos application and so on .

Here is how to use the sticker maker app to create your own stickers and convert your selfie into whatsapp stickers

Go to the google play store .install sticker maker for whatsapp on your device
After running the application click on the create a new sticker pack ..option you will be required to enter a sticker pack name and the name of the sticker pack author then click on create
Click on the new list option and a new page opens that allows you to add up to 30 of your own stickers
Note : that the first sticker above will be the package icon that will appear as the id for your whatsapp sticker pack .

Add sticker to start creating your own stickers from the gallery

Once you upload the image you want to convert to a poster .at the bottom of thte screen you will see several tools for editing your photos and cutting the part you want to be a poster only .
Crop the images as you like and then click yes save sticker .

Once you have finished the stickers you want click on add to whatsapp option in the lower left corner a popup screen will appear asking you to confirm the addition by pressing the add button

After you add the sticker pack it will automatically appear in the whatsapp within the sticker packs and your sticker pack will be defined in the app using the code you put it for it .
